For Resource 2 on Wednesdays, I'll be having an "Open Mic" in my classroom. This is a chance for you to perform your talents and abilities in front of your classmates. Performances can include playing guitar, singing, reading poetry, doing small skits, small monologues or other demonstrations. Though there won't exactly be a microphone per se, the spirit of the Open Mic concept can still remain.
In order to be a part of the open mic resource, you must first sign up for the resource. You can find the resource by visiting the Lomira school website, or by clicking on this link: lhs.edf.school/index.php
Then, sign up for your performance on the Google Doc I have specifically for this resource: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1c85Dmkm9tAjU-NRxTiREYVSBZGwhv_MjVSkA0SfNt5E/edit?usp=sharing
Make sure if you do choose to perform in front of your classmates, your performance choice is school appropriate: no swearing, references to drugs, alcohol, violence, etc.
Once in the resource, you must follow the following rules:
- RESPECT everyone who chooses to perform. It’s not easy to get in front of a group of people and perform
- Applaud each performer after they finish. DON’T applaud sarcastically. The unnecessary heavy claps aren’t appreciated.
- LISTEN to each performer. Side conversations are incredibly rude and gives the performer more trepidation
- Sign up to perform on the performances sheet. All performances need to be okayed by Mr. Davis.
- Keep it school appropriate: no swearing, references to drugs, alcohol, violence, etc.
- If we have no more performers, the resource becomes a study hall
If you choose not to follow those rules, you will not be allowed to come back to this resource. We're here to have fun, and that means that this is a judgement free zone.
